Green Building Council (CaGBC) is the national resource for architects,
engineers and design firms, manufacturers, professional associations,
developers, builders, government and public sector workers, and anyone with a
passion for green buildings, homes, and communities.
Since 2002,
the Canada
Green Building Council has
been fulfilling its
mission to accelerate the transformation of the built
environment, leading to a sustainable future. The CaGBC aims to change industry
standards, develop best design practices and guidelines, and advocate for green
buildings. Another important goal for the organization is to develop
educational tools to support its members in implementing sustainable design and
construction practices.
To this end, the CaGBC offers many seminars and
workshops throughout the year, as well as a highly regarded annual national
conference called
Building Lasting Change. If you're looking for a way to be energized, informed and inspired
about green building, consider attending our new, online version of this annual conference, kicking off September 22, 2020. With one half-day of learning opportunities each week over a five-week span, this year's BLC requires no travel, making it convenient and affordable.

Conference
The annual
CaGBC conference is an event designed to maximize your ability to learn and
network. Leading speakers and informative workshops are combined new online opportunities to connect and grow your network.
The conference is designed to be interactive and engaging while providing time for thought-provoking discussions. Conference
topics are always wide-ranging, challenging, informative and motivating,
and are led by leaders in Canada's green building industry and beyond. Each session offers valuable contributing education hours which go towards earning and maintaining your
green credentials.
Past conferences have included speakers such as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, renowned biomimicrist Janine Benyus, David Suzuki and Stephen Lewis, as well as B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell. This year, the conference will kick off with a keynote from the founder of
Project Drawdown,
Paul Hawken, and end with a keynote from Regional Chief of the Assembly of First Nations,
Kluane Adamek. As with other years, awards will be given to individuals who have helped to advance the cause of green building in a variety of categories including Academic Leadership; Emerging Green Builder Leadership; Government Leadership; Volunteer Leadership; Chapter Leadership Award; Green Building Champion; Industry Leadership; and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
