Build your Career with CaGBC’s Certificate Programs

The evidence is in: the Green Building Market in Canada is growing. A study in 2014 showed that our country’s green building industry generated $23.45 billion in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and supported over 297, 890 direct jobs (Delphi Report, 2016). The industry in Canada represents opportunity ripe for the taking; however, distinguishing yourself in the market these days can be difficult. Luckily, CaGBC’s has two certificate programs designed to give you the edge and provide you with the knowledge and practical experience you need to become an invaluable member on any green building project.



The LEED Strategic Practices (LSP) program, is a new part time certificate program that, upon completion, will provide you with the skills and confidence needed to start working on a LEED project immediately. The program is made up of several courses and involves interactive online learning as well as individual/group assignments. Students will connect with industry professionals and gain hands on experience in working with LEED projects and completing documentation. GPRO: Green Professional Skills Training is delivered by tradespeople for tradespeople. Geared towards trained contractors, building operators, service workers and construction professionals, this series of courses teaches the principles of sustainability and provides industry specific courses on building green and achieving LEED. Courses cover topics such as "Construction Management”, "Operations and Maintenance Essentials”, "Electrical Systems”, "Plumbing” and "Mechanical & HVAC-R”.
